  13. ISSUE/PROBLEM
  14.  
  15.      Prior to Advanced NetWare version 2.0, the Remote System Reset feature
  16.      was only supported on IBM brand PC workstations.  Because of some changes
  17.      that were made to the code in the Advanced NetWare Remote Reset Boot
  18.      EPROMs versions 2.0 and above, some IBM PC compatible machines can now be
  19.      used as workstations with the Remote System Reset feature.

  21.      The ROM BIOS requirements for the Remote System Reset feature in IBM PC
  22.      compatibles are as follows:

  24.      1.   When the PC is powered up, the BIOS must search the User ROM Address
  25.           Area.  If a User ROM is found, the BIOS then must make a subroutine
  26.           call on the User ROM (CS:03).  A return to the BIOS will be made
  27.           from the User ROM.  See the IBM Technical Reference Manual for a
  28.           detailed description of the User ROM area and specifications.

  30.      2.   After the BIOS finishes all its initialization and its diagnostics,
  31.           it must execute an INT 19h instruction (Boot Strap Loader).

  33.      For information concerning your ROM BIOS, contact your PC
  34.      supplier/manufacturer to confirm whether your PC supports these features.
  35.  
  36.      Limited testing at Novell indicates that the Compaq PC portables, the
  37.      Sperry PC, the Santa Clara PC terminal, and the PC Solutions PC will work
  38.      with Advanced NetWare Remote Reset Boot EPROMs versions 2.0 and above.
